Kazakh inventors develop an electric drive for wheelchairs

Young inventors from the Nazarbayev University constructed an embedded electric drive for standard mechanical wheelchairs.
The electric drive motorizes a wheelchair and this in turn is much easier and cheaper than buying a new electric wheelchair.
The project makes the life of disabled people more mobile and movable.
The social startup of the Nazarbayev University was supported by Kazyna Capital Management under the “10 good deeds” campaign. According to the representatives of the staff, this is their contribution to the program “Rukhani Zhangyru” focused among other things on the generation of active social, charitable and volunteer activities of population aimed at resolving pressing issues.
Just before, the inventors together with Kazyna Capital Management presented the electric wheelchairs to the first owners.
“We decided to support the start-up of this team who produce a prototype of electric drive for wheelchairs. I believe that it is very important for people to support each other, especially those who are in urgent need of it. Our staff with great relish helped disabled people to make their life more comfortable”, said Askar Dostiyarov, Chairman of the Management Board of Kazyna Capital Management JSC.
