Modern SAVORY Feed Mill Launched in Akmola Region with the Support of Qazaqstan Investment Corporation
A ceremonial opening of a new production facility under the SAVORY brand, specializing in the manufacture of high-quality compound feed and feed additives for livestock and poultry, took place in the Akmola Region.
The plant’s product portfolio includes specialized feed for cattle farms, pig-breeding complexes, poultry farms, and aquaculture enterprises. The facility will help meet the growing demand of domestic producers for high-quality, balanced feed products that comply with modern international standards.
The project was implemented by Unicorn Feed Limited with the support of Qazaqstan Investment Corporation JSC (QIC, a subsidiary of Baiterek National Managing Holding JSC) through a private equity fund managed by Tulpar Management LLP.
The SAVORY project is part of Baiterek Holding’s broader strategy aimed at creating a full agricultural value chain in Kazakhstan. Through its subsidiary QIC, the Holding participates in financing projects at all key stages of the production cycle—from crop cultivation and feed production to meat manufacturing and further deep processing.
The launch of the facility marks an important milestone for Kazakhstan’s agro-industrial sector. The development of domestic feed production directly contributes to the sustainability of the livestock industry, reduces dependence on imports, improves the quality of the feed base, and strengthens the country’s food security.
The relevance of the project is supported by positive market dynamics. In 2025, Kazakhstan produced approximately 3.7 million tons of prepared feed for farm animals, representing a 54% increase compared to 2024. This growth reflects strong demand from livestock and poultry producers and highlights the need for further expansion of modern production capacities. Against this backdrop, the launch of the SAVORY plant holds significant importance for the industry.
“Today’s launch reaffirms the key principle of our work: investments must be transformed into real production facilities, new jobs, and modern technologies. Projects like this create conditions for attracting private investment, support the development of competitive industries, and generate new drivers of economic growth for Kazakhstan,” said Gabbas Yerzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board for Investment Activities at QIC.
The plant has an annual production capacity of up to 120,000 tons of compound feed. It is equipped with modern high-tech machinery and an automated production management system that ensures quality control at every stage of the process, from raw material intake to the release of finished products.
The total investment in the project amounted to KZT 6 billion, of which approximately KZT 4 billion was provided by the private equity fund through existing financing mechanisms. The project is expected to create up to 70 new jobs and contribute positively to the development of the region’s agricultural sector.
A significant contribution to the implementation of the project was made by the Georgian group of companies GIG Holding, which provided technical, technological, and financial support. Through the involvement of international expertise, a modern production complex focused on supplying high-quality products to domestic agricultural producers was established.
As part of the opening ceremony, Tulpar Management LLP, GIG Holding, and Unicorn Feed Limited signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at further developing the project, expanding production capacity, and strengthening long-term partnership.
The launch of the SAVORY plant demonstrates the practical implementation of the integrated agro-industrial development model consistently pursued by Baiterek Holding. Through its captive funds and management companies, QIC develops value chains at every stage of agricultural production.
Stage One – Crop Production:
QIC finances a major agricultural holding engaged in the cultivation of grain, oilseed, legume, forage, and other crops, thereby creating the raw material base for the entire value chain.
Stage Two – Feed Production:
Crop products are processed into balanced compound feed for livestock, poultry, pig farming, and aquaculture industries through Unicorn Feed Limited.
Stage Three – Livestock and Poultry Production:
QIC has consistently supported projects in beef cattle farming (KazMyaso Group and EMC Agro LLP) and poultry production (Aitas KZ JSC), creating sustainable domestic demand for high-quality feed products.
Stage Four – Deep Processing:
Poultry products are supplied to IL-TOV LLP, the first and only high-tech plant in Kazakhstan and Central Asia producing 100% ready-to-cook poultry meat products.
Thus, every stage of the value chain—from crop production to finished products on retail shelves—is supported by QIC capital. This approach ensures that maximum value added remains within the country and contributes to strengthening Kazakhstan’s food security.
