Head of State visited the new international terminal of Almaty airport
One of the investors in the project in 2021 was Qazaqstan Investment Corporation JSC

The working trip of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Almaty began with a visit to the new international airport terminal.
On the eve of the opening of the terminal, the Head of State was told about the progress of construction and presented the check-in areas, border and customs control, and the baggage compartment.
Alp Er Tunga Ersoy, President of Almaty International Airport JSC, said that the terminal, built in compliance with seismic and fire safety requirements, is capable of withstanding an earthquake of magnitude up to 10 points. The total area was 53.5 thousand square meters, with a capacity of 14 million people per year.
It was noted that the new terminal will be the first in Central Asia to be certified under the Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) program. Taking into account the growth in the number of passengers and the number of airlines, 50 check-in desks will operate, and the latest equipment has been purchased. The terminal is fully adapted for people with disabilities.
Then the President inspected the airport's new VIP terminal.
Following the visit, the Head of State noted that the first impression of the city and the country as a whole begins with the airport.
– Almaty International Airport is the largest air harbor in the country. Every year, the flow of tourists to the southern capital is only increasing, in 2023, more than 2 million tourists visited the metropolis. Two years ago, a capsule laying ceremony was held with my participation at the construction site, and tomorrow the new terminal of the Almaty International Airport will serve the first flights," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated.
In conclusion, the President expressed gratitude to TAV GROUP for the construction of the terminal in accordance with international standards, as well as to the consortium of creditors – the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the International Finance Corporation and the Eurasian Development Bank – for participating in such an important project for Almaty.
