Astana International Forum 2025

The session Kazakhstan’s Private Equity Frontier: Capitalizing on High-Growth Market Dynamics was held as part of the AIF 2025 Astana International Forum. The session was organized by Qazaqstan Investment Corporation JSC (QIC), a subsidiary of JSC NMH Baiterek.

The session was attended by Didar Karimsakov, the Chairman of the QIC Management Board; Asset Yerali, the CEO Pioneer Capital Invest (Kazakhstan); Richard Dallas, the Head of Investments at Gulf Capital (UAE); Cliff Chau, the Managing Partner at EWPartners (Saudi Arabia). The session was moderated by Marcia Favale, the Independent Director of QIC (USA).

The speakers discussed the role of national institutions in the development of the private equity market and identified the challenges hindering the development of the industry and shared their vision of overcoming them.

The session participants noted that Kazakhstan is entering a new investment phase where private capital is becoming a key driver of growth beyond the resource sector. Thus, new opportunities with high added value are emerging in all sectors of the economy ranging from agriculture to digital innovation.
